SpecKit
An independent reference implementation of the manifesto built on SpecKit, its actual status, and its limits.
What it is and what it is not
Explanation
SpecKit is a specification-driven development tool: it organizes work into specifying, clarifying, planning, breaking down into tasks, analyzing, implementing, and converging. It does not define the manifesto or the product. The Software Humano adaptation uses it to keep the doctrine present while a coding agent works. It is a way to apply the manifesto, not the manifesto itself.
Five layers, each with its own authority
Explanation
- The manifesto core governs the principles, workflow, artifacts, and acceptance criteria.
- The operational constitution is the complete core, installed where the agent reads it before every operation. It constrains the agent's actions.
- The application annex defines how each core obligation maps to a SpecKit operation.
- The Software Humano preset, extension, and workflow implement that mapping. The preset adds to each operation what the manifesto requires there; the extension checks that the artifacts contain it; the workflow puts in place the gates named by the manifesto.
- Native SpecKit retains its behavior in everything the adaptation does not touch.
What it retains and what it changes
Explanation
The native commands retain their descriptions, chaining, and scripts, and the native checklist remains intact. What changes is the content of the templates: each operation incorporates what the manifesto requires at that point, quoted verbatim from the core, and the core artifacts appear where they belong. None of this requires modifying SpecKit's code.
Current status
Confirmed technical status
- It is an independent adaptation.
- It uses SpecKit's native customization mechanisms (presets).
- It does not modify SpecKit's code.
- Technically validated in version 2.0.0, on 2026-09-27.
- It is not an official integration and is not endorsed by GitHub.
Software Humano for SpecKit is published: version 2.3.2, with preset 2.0.3, which works the same as the 2.0.0 this site was built with.
- See version 2.3.2 on GitHub
- How to install it, in the repository README

It is currently applied to a single real project: this site. Its validation is technical; there is no evidence yet of use by other teams.
